Why hello there!

My name is Melanie and I’m a vintage textile loving, adventure seeking, treasure hunting quilter who loves to connect with other quilters and sewers.

Several years ago I won a closet full of fabric in an online auction. It was full of vintage fabrics from a quilter who had passed more than a decade prior. As I was digging through the fabric to see what I had impulsively purchased, I saw my first true vintage calico prints. It was love at first sight!

The fabric was soft and buttery, quilted like a dream, and crinkled juuuust right after washing. An obsession was born. 😅

In the years since I dug through that closet I have traveled the US in search of vintage fabrics and textiles. Wherever I go, I ask questions, take classes or workshops, and do my best to learn about what I’m collecting. Learning about fabrics became another obsession for me.

I began to share my adventures and the fabric and textiles that I found on my Instagram page. My followers became my friends. We traded stories and tips for places to hunt for fabric.

Now I spend my time sharing what I’ve learned with other quilters and continuing rescue vintage textiles from being sent to the landfill.
